So Many Things Happening at Once

Well, my life has been pretty busy as of late. This month, my baby girl turned ONE! Yes I said ONE! She turned ONE on the 9th and we had her birthday party on the 12th! I will try and add some pictures to this post later. I am also wanting to show her progression each month through the year, so I will try to have up in couple of days. Just keep checking back ;-)

We had a good time at her birthday party, hopefully all those in attendance did too. We had about 50 people show up. She got so many neat toys and clothes. She seemed to enjoy each present. We had a wet party with a slip-n-slide, two air bounce inflatables, a pool, and water balloons. I filled more than 200 water balloons to only have a couple of kids bust over half of them before we could use them. They did this while we were opening presents and the balloons were out of our sight. Oh well :-/

Also, at this time, I have four applications out. Three for internal openings at Air Liquide and one with the League City Police Department.

With League City Police, I have made it past the testing, oral board, and they will finish up my background this week. So far it is looking good with them.

I had a phone interview a couple of weeks ago for a Medical Sales Position with Air Liquide in San Antonio. This job would be a substantial increase in base pay with commission and several perks, ie company car, cell phone, etc. I highly doubt I get this job, but I also didn't even think that I would get an interview. He said that he narrowed it down to 10 and had the phone interviews with us. He said by October 8th or 9th he was going to make a final four and interview those that make the cut in person. After that he would decide who he was hiring and would hopefully have them start by November 1st.

I also applied for an Energy Management Analyst Position which would be located at our US Corporate office in the Galleria area. That position would work in the same building as my sister and the law firm she works for. No word back from that. :-(

Lastly, today I interviewed for the Logistics Analyst position where I am now. The position is basically the next position up from where I am now. It was kind of weird interviewing with these four guys because I know them all and they know me. They even said, "Well we are going to just skip the 'Tell us about yourself' question." HA They are the different scheduling zone supervisors. One is even an Aggie (WHOOP!) that graduated a couple of years before me. He is a good guy, but hey, he is an Aggie, so that is no surprise. They said that they would get back with me by the weeks end.

Now, I am in such dilemma, or at least I feel that way. For most people that know me, law enforcement is something that I have wanted to do for a very long time. I had big aspirations, but nothing has panned out. I always pray that God will open the doors that I should go through, and close the ones that I shouldn't. Now some say, like my grandma, that God keeps closing the doors for police work and I just go look somewhere else. She said it has to do with me being hard headed or what not :-P. I just keep saying, "Well maybe He does not want me at this police deparment." lol On the flip side, as far as corporate America, Air Liquide is great. The company really has benefits like no other, pays well, and is overall a great company IMO, even if they are French owned! :-D Now I know that nothing is guaranteed and that I have not even gotten an offer on any of these, but I would be in a hard place if both League City Police and Air Liquide offered me at the same time. Also, what if I take a job with Air Liquide to only later have League City offer me a position? What do I do? Would it be right for me to jump ship and leave while they are spending their money to train me before I was able to "pay them back" with my work? Do I leave a company like this that has these great benefits for me and my family for me to pursue something I have always wanted to do? Would that be selfish of me? We REALLY like they Cy-Fair congregation and I have really enjoyed seeing Carissa make friends here and I hate to uproot us. I know Carissa says that we can make friends anywhere, but again, we have really gotten to like the group here. So many questions and so little answers! lol

On top of all that, our lease is up on the 31st of October, so where we are going to live until all this pans out, is still up in the air. We could end up in three different areas and I don't want to buy a home or sign a lease just yet.

Anyway, if you made it this far, thanks for reading and I will try to update this post with a few pictures.
